A “City of Art and History”, Chambéry is only fifteen kilometres down the road from Aix les Bains and can be easily explored on foot.

“Vieux Chambéry” is probably the best place to find the city’s secret treasures, starting off with the iconic Place des Elephants and its fountain with the truncated elephants, the cobbled alleyways creating shortcuts through the city, but also its cultural heart: the Château of the Dukes of Savoy, the splendid Cathedral of St François de Sales, the must-see Railway Rotunda, the Museum of Fine Arts, and a lot more.
